問：I heard a noise in the bathroom.
介係詞片語in the bathroom 是作heard 的地方副詞還是作a noise 的形容詞呢?
答：就孤立的句子來看, 這個句子是有歧義的。既可以理解為:“我在洗澡間裡聽見了響聲。”(I was in the bathroom.), 也可以理解為:“我聽見了洗澡間裡的響聲。”(The noise was in the bathroom.)

請問譯文是否準確?
答：後面加了from或of的hear 用法有不同意思, hear from 原意是:“收到……的信(電報等)”, 而不是“聽到……的消息”。hear of 才是“聽到……的消息”:

不得到你的回音, 我不會往下幹。 - She hasn’t heard of her husband’s death.
她還沒有聽到丈夫去世的消息。 - We all rejoiced to hear of your success.
聽到你獲得成功的消息, 我們大家都很高興。

但我無論如何也無法譯出上面的句子。請指教。
答：will (would, could) not hear of 是一個固定的hear 用法, 意為“不同意”、“拒絕考慮”、“不允許”:
- I will not hear of you making a trip to that place.
我絕不同意你到那個地方去旅遊。 - I want to go to the show tonight, but I know my mother will not hear of it.
我想今晚去看演出, 但我知道媽媽絕不會讓我去。
