6種insist 用法、意思和例句解釋

insist 用法1：

問：I insist that you give me my money back.(《高中英語教科書》(必修)第二册(上)，人民教育出版社、朗文出版集團有限公司，1997，p.55)
鄭孝通編著的《高中英語重點，難點縱横談》(二)一書(中國科技大學出版社，1997，p.61)
在解釋上面的句子時說：give前省略了 should。查了許多教輔材料，也都是這麼解釋的。請問這種解釋是否恰當？

答：上面的解釋是不恰當的。實際上，上句中的give和 should give分屬於兩種不同的文法形式，前者決不是後者的省略形式。前一種形式叫做現在假設法，亦稱be動詞型假設法，主要用在美式英語中，目前在英式英語中，由於受到美式英語的影響，也越來越多地用在正式語中。而should結構主要用於英式英語中。請看R. Quirk等人對此問題的觀點：

The employees have demanded that the manager (resign/should resign/resigns).

insist 用法2：

問：Our teacher insisted that we _________ in class.
A. not to talk
B. don’t talk
C. should not talk
D. not talk
鄭孝通編著《高中英語重點，難點縱横談》(二)(中國科技大學出版社，1997，p.61)在解答上道題時說：

“insist that…後面可以加 should，也可省略，動詞用原形。但用在 should not時，則不能省略should”。

由此看來，上題的唯一正確答案，只能是C(should not talk)。請問真是這樣嗎？

答：上面的解釋把兩種不同的結構混為一種結構了。實際上，在上面的that子句中使用現在假設法和 should結構都是正確的。在使用第一種結構時，that子句如為否定句，則否定詞not應放在動詞之前，例如：

1. They insisted that we not eat meat. 他們堅持不讓我們吃肉。
2. Jean’s uncle insists that he not stay in this hotel. 珍的叔父堅持不住這家旅館。

由此可見，上道試題中的選項 D(not talk)也同樣是正確的。

鄭孝通著的《高中英語重點，難點縱横談》(二)(中國科技大學出版社，1997，p.61)認為上道題的唯一正確答案是A(stay)但我認為，選擇項C( must stay)也是同樣正的。不知我的看法是否正確？

答：你insist 用法的看法是正確的。你從下面的實例可以看出，在 insist等動詞之後，that子句也可以使用should以外的情態助動詞。例如：

1. She insisted that Jim must leave. 她堅持吉姆必須離開。
2. She insisted that he must go out no more until he was cured. 她堅持在他病好之前不許他再外出。

insist 用法4：

問：《英語考試題典》(本科生、碩士生專用)(吉林科學技術出版社，1994，p.492)有一道改錯題：

We insist that the Smiths are told about that matter. No Error.

書上給的答案是are told應改 be told。但我認為這並沒有錯誤。

答：首先應當注意，動詞insist 用法具有兩種不同的含義：1. 堅持，堅持持要求；2.堅持認為，堅持說。insist 用法用作第一個含義時，that子句的動詞要用現在式假設語氣或者should + 原形動詞（英式英語）：

1. I insist that he (leave / should leave) at once. 我堅持他馬上離開。
2. … He always insisted that it should be written out in full. …他總是堅持要求把信全文寫出來。

但是，當insist用作第二個意義時，則使用陳述語氣：

1. She insisted that he is guilty of fraud. 她堅持認他犯有詐騙罪。

A. insist興介系詞on或upon連用，面 persist與介係詞in連用：

2. She insisted upon lending them her car. 她堅持把她的車借耠他們。
3. Why do you persist in writing such things? 你為什麼堅持寫這樣的東西？
4. If you persist in breaking the law you will go to prison. 如果你執意犯法，你會進監獄的。

B. 當後接受詞子句時，persist作“堅持說”、“反覆說”解而 insist有時作“堅持說”、“堅持認為”解，而有時作“堅持”解。在後一情況，that子句的動詞要用be型假設語氣或 should + 原形動詞。
